I wonder how many instruments one person can play.
He sticks to analog in this digital age,
making music using every part of his body he can.
Is it really okay to just call this street performance?
He travels the world, captivating audiences of all ages,
holding a fiddle in one hand, a piano in the other,
a special drum set that replaces both hands on his feet,
playing various instruments with his mouth, and even singing.

It's no exaggeration to say that his music is world music in the truest sense.
It sounds like he's condensed his entire career to date,
making connections, having fun,
and yet there's a real story behind it...

His way of life is like that of a clown,
The meaning of clown is slow, foolish, or clownish,
while showing a playful and playful side,
there is a theory that he represents not only human joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness,
but also the countless emotions that each person has.
His performance, which also incorporates his clownish side,
may be the very definition of a clown.

So, is he really a street performer?

CHINEN DAICHI

I wonder how broad the range of expression one person
can achieve without possessing anything. He sticks to
analog in this digital age, dancing with every inch of his body.
Is it really appropriate to dismiss this as merely street performance?
His expression is different from moment to moment, and you can feel
the heat and power he pours into every part of his body?his fingertips,
muscles, bones, and even the tips of his nails. It's not to be missed.
Some people may find his expression comical. I don't want to blame it
on our cold, bleak times, but I'm sure there are some who feel that way.
But what I want to say is,
Ignore those cold aspects,
When Daichi Chinen's performance begins,
I want you to immerse yourself in his world for once.
You have to start from scratch.
When his performance begins,
put yourself aside for a moment and use your eyes and ears
to link yourself with Daichi Chinen.
Images that can only be seen at that moment,
and that only you can feel will unfold,
and take on a form.

When you consider that Gilyak Amagasaki's unique and
daring performance earned him the nickname "the last street performer" and "the legendary street performer,"
I guess it really is street performance after all.

These two contrasting "street performers" are, in some ways,
not even sure if they're even considered "street performers" at all.
You won't know until you come and see their performance/live show on August 9th.
Here you'll find a "street performance"
that's different from the kind you see on major roadsides.

KOMUTA REONA (RINKY DINK)

daichi chinen   -CHINEN DAICHI-

In 2004, he encountered street performance on the streets of Ikebukuro and decided to pursue it.
Since then, he has performed at numerous street performance festivals and on the streets both in Japan and abroad.
In 2013, he appeared as a dancer in "Sakuko on the Shore," directed by Koji Fukada.
In 2014, he performed the solo dance performance "Investigation - Earth Edition" (@plan-B), directed by Min Tanaka.
In 2020, the documentary film "Daichi no Mai (I Want to Dance)," directed by Kazuyuki Nozawa, was screened at Toyooka Theater.
His cameraman was Yasuhiro Hotta, who filmed "Kaze no Suke (View of the Wind)," directed by Keiya Ouchida, which documented the dancer Tatsumi Hijikata dancing in the streets.
In 2021, he choreographed the performance for the NHK Saturday drama "The Piano Man in a Six-Tatami Room."
From 2023 to 2024, he will be performing in the regular nude performance "LATAI."
I continue to experiment with dance as a device that shakes the "existence" within everyone. Street performer/dancer. Entertainer.
